President Bola Tinubu has appointed Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo to lead the Directorate of Air Mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress’s 2027 re-election campaign.

The directorate will coordinate campaign air travel and aviation logistics, including arrangements for designated officials and personnel travelling across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku will serve as Deputy Director I, while Farouk Ahmed Umar will serve as Deputy Director II. The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Keyamo’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood.

Moshood said the team would work with other campaign structures on planning, scheduling and the deployment of logistical resources. He said Keyamo’s aviation experience, alongside the sector experience of the two deputies, would support that coordination.

The statement described air transportation as part of the campaign’s arrangements for reaching multiple locations within tight schedules. It placed the directorate within the wider APC Presidential Campaign Council structure organising Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Moshood said the directorate must comply with aviation safety requirements and applicable electoral laws. He also said campaign operations should remain distinct from official government functions, with campaign-related arrangements made through properly authorised channels.
