Tinubu Hails Badejo-Okusanya After Historic NBA Election Victory
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya on her election as president of the Nigerian Bar Association, describing the result as a major moment for the legal profession.
Badejo-Okusanya is the first elected female NBA president and the second woman to lead the association.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said her victory reflected merit, professional excellence and wider recognition of women’s contributions to public life.
Channels TV and Punch reported that the President urged her to use the office to strengthen the rule of law, defend justice and help build public confidence in the legal system.
The message comes after earlier legal challenges around the NBA transition, but Tinubu’s statement focused on Badejo-Okusanya’s election and the responsibility ahead of her.
