President Bola Tinubu has left Paris for Nigeria after ending his working vacation in Europe, the Presidency said on Tuesday.

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu’s aircraft was expected to land at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos later in the evening. The President is returning to Lagos first ahead of Independence Day events.

The Presidency said Tinubu would attend the premiere of a film honouring MKO Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, on Independence Day. It also said he would meet political leaders and associates while in Lagos.

Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation. He spent one week in London before travelling to Paris, where the Presidency said he attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and met business leaders.

The return confirms the latest official update on the President’s movements after earlier questions over when he would come back from Europe.
