Former Sokoto governor Aminu Tambuwal has asked a state High Court to compel the government to release the report of a commission that investigated his administration.
Tambuwal, who represents Sokoto South in the Senate, alleges that the government and the commission have failed to give him a copy after the inquiry’s proceedings ended.
Daily Post reported that the suit, numbered SS/133/2026, is before Justice Mohammed Mohammed at Sokoto State High Court 6. Tambuwal filed it through his counsel, U.O. Sule, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu, the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and the Sokoto State Commission of Inquiry are named as defendants, according to the report.
The commission examined activities and transactions during Tambuwal’s tenure from 2015 to 2023. It was chaired by Justice Mu’azu Pindiga, a former Chief Judge of Gombe State.
Tambuwal argues that he needs the report to know the commission’s findings and conclusions.
Daily Post reported that judgment in the suit has been fixed for November 9, 2026.
