Shettima, Gowon Attend Buhari One-Year Remembrance In Abuja

Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon and several governors were among the dignitaries who attended the one-year remembrance of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Monday.

The programme brought together Buhari's family, former aides, traditional rulers, religious leaders, lawmakers and political associates. Former First Lady Aisha Buhari and Buhari's children were also present.

Channels TV reported that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, attended the ceremony alongside serving and former public officials. Daily Trust reported that the gathering included friends, family members and well-wishers who came to honour the late former president.

The remembrance was held at the National Mosque in Abuja. It came one year after Buhari's death and drew figures from across Nigeria's political and traditional leadership circles.
