Rotimi Amaechi’s Mother, Mary Amaechi, Dies At 89
Mary Amaechi, mother of former Rivers State governor and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, has died at the age of 89.
The family announced her death in a statement issued by the Rotimi Amaechi Media Office on Thursday, saying she died peacefully.
The statement described her as a devoted Christian, community women’s leader and matriarch who promoted peace, unity and service.
The family said she was loved and respected in her community for her compassion, generosity and support for others. Amaechi and his family also thanked friends and supporters for their condolences.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later, according to the statement. Amaechi is the vice-presidential candidate of the ADC for the 2027 election.
