Police recover second corpse after Osun Accord chieftain killing
Police in Osun State have recovered another corpse from Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife, a day after Accord Party chieftain Olalekan Oyeyemi was shot dead at the facility.
The new discovery brings the confirmed number of bodies found around the park to two. Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, was buried on Monday at his newly completed residence in Osogbo.
The killing has deepened concern over violence around the transport facility. Punch reported that the police recovered the second body while enforcing the state government’s order shutting the park after the shooting.
Premium Times also reported that the command recovered another corpse from the motor park after the governor directed that the facility be closed. Both reports identified Oyeyemi as a top Accord Party member and ally of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Police authorities said investigation into the shooting was continuing. The reports did not give the identity of the second person found dead.
