Police Investigate Death Of 60-Year-Old Man In Jigawa Hotel
Police in Jigawa State are investigating the death of a 60-year-old man who reportedly developed a medical emergency at a hotel in Dutse.
The state police command said the incident happened around 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday in the Yalwawa area after the man checked into the hotel with a 20-year-old woman.
Premium Times, Punch and Daily Trust reported that the command’s spokesperson, Lawan Adam, said the man began gasping for air after requesting a meal. Officers from the Yalwawa Division responded to a distress call and took him to the General Hospital in Dutse.
Medical personnel later confirmed him dead. Police said the woman who was with him had been taken in as part of the investigation, while the scene was secured and evidence was collected.
The command said the case was being treated as a sudden and unnatural death pending the outcome of further inquiries. The reports did not state a confirmed cause of death.
