Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Kogi Teacher’s Killing

Police in Kogi State have arrested three suspects over the death of Mariam Usman, the Brains Minds Nursery and Primary School teacher whose killing was earlier reported by NaijaTrend here.

The latest police update says investigators have concluded their work and established a prima facie case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide against Abdullahi Isiaka, Ramatu Isiaka Eleojo and Ojonojima Mary.

Usman died on June 25 after alleged assaults linked to disciplinary action she took against an 11-year-old pupil. Police said the first attack happened at her residence on June 17, followed by another assault on her way to the mosque the same day.

Investigators also said Ojonojima Mary, described as Ramatu Isiaka Eleojo’s younger sister, went to the school on June 18 and assaulted Usman at her workplace.

Police said the teacher was first treated at Grace Clinic, Ugbamaka, and later referred to Eleojo Clinic, Okpo, where she died from her injuries. The suspects are expected to face prosecution before a court.
