Olamaboro council announces death of councillor Rosemary Aduku
Olamaboro Local Government Council in Kogi State has announced the death of Rosemary Aduku, the councillor representing Ogugu Ward III.
Council chairman Dr Ameh Williams issued the announcement on Friday on behalf of the Olamaboro Executive Council. Aduku served in the local government’s eighth legislative council and was known among colleagues as Hon. Rosella.
Punch and Vanguard reported that she died after spending days in captivity. The council announcement quoted by the newspapers did not explain the circumstances of the captivity.
Williams described Aduku as humble and reliable, and extended condolences to her family, members of the legislative and executive councils, and the Ogugu community.
The announcement scheduled her burial for 1 p.m. on Friday at her family compound in Ogugu Centre and invited members of the All Progressives Congress to attend.
