Police in Ogun State have arrested three women accused of involvement in a child-stealing network and rescued three children in Ibafo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

The suspects were identified in reports as Kikelomo Jimoh, 36; Kayode Elizabeth; and Blessing Anochike, 60. Police said Jimoh was arrested after an intelligence-led investigation into a child-stealing complaint.

The command said Jimoh allegedly led detectives to Anochike’s residence, where the three children were found. One of the children was described as a 14-year-old girl allegedly sold for N500,000.

Ogun police spokesperson Oluseyi Babasiyi said the children had been rescued while investigators continue work on the case. The reports did not say that the suspects had been convicted, and the allegations remain subject to police investigation and court proceedings.

The case is the latest child-protection arrest reported in the South-West in recent weeks, with police commands asking residents to report suspicious movements involving children.
