Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, says he is ready to face the courts over certificate forgery allegations against him.

Nnaji, now a Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Enugu State, said through his spokesperson, Robert Ngwu, that reports about his legal troubles had mixed up civil proceedings, reported criminal charges and media accounts of the case.

He said the main case over his academic records is a civil suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1909/2025, was filed by Nnaji to seek clarification on his academic records and the release of his university transcript.

The statement said Nnaji had not been arraigned as a criminal defendant in that civil matter. It also said he remained confident in the judicial process.

Premium Times reported separately that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission had filed criminal charges connected to the certificate forgery allegations. Daily Post reported Nnaji’s response, including his insistence that he was ready to submit to the legal process.
