Nigerian Army Warns Public Against Fake SSC Recruitment Advertisement

The Nigerian Army has warned the public to ignore a fake recruitment advertisement inviting applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission Course 50/2027.

The Army said the notice circulating on social media and other online platforms did not come from the service and was being used to mislead job seekers.

Punch reported that Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Appolonia Anele, said the advertisement was false and fraudulent. Vanguard also reported the Army’s warning and said security agencies had been asked to identify, arrest and prosecute those behind it.

The Army said its recruitment and commissioning exercises are free, transparent and merit-based. It urged Nigerians not to pay money to anyone claiming to offer access to the Short Service Combatant Commission process.

The warning follows similar alerts from public agencies about fake recruitment and allowance schemes spread through social media posts and unofficial links.

Applicants were advised to rely only on official Nigerian Army communication channels for recruitment information.
