The Nigerian Army has announced a fresh round of senior postings, naming new General Officers Commanding and commanders across several formations.
Daily Post reported that the changes were announced on Saturday in a statement by Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations. Punch also carried the same reshuffle in its Saturday morning feed.
According to the Army statement, the postings were approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, and affect operational, command, training and staff positions across the service.
Major General WM Dangana was appointed General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE. He replaces Major General EF Oyinlola.
Major General EI Okoro was named General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army and Land Component Commander of Joint Task Force South-South Operation DELTA SAFE. He takes over from Major General EE Emeka.

In other operational postings, Brigadier General IB Buhari will command Headquarters 63 Brigade, while Brigadier General K Rabiu takes over Headquarters 31 Artillery Brigade.
Major General SA Emmanuel was appointed Commander of the Nigerian Army Space Command, while Major General O Adegbe becomes Director of Intelligence and Security at Defence Headquarters.
The reshuffle also touched training institutions. Major General KE Chigbu was appointed Deputy Commandant of the National Defence College, while Major General SD Makolo takes over as Commandant of the Nigerian Army Armour School.
Major General SO Adejimi was named Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport. Major General FS Etim was appointed Chief of Training at Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command, while Brigadier General U Ahmad will serve as Commandant of Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria.
The Army also listed Major General KO Ukandu as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Post Housing Development Limited, and Major General AI Allison as Managing Director of Defence Properties Limited.

The Army said the reshuffle forms part of its wider transformation drive as it seeks a more professional and combat-ready force for Nigeria’s security operations.
