Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has visited Bin-Per community in Kombun District, Mangu Local Government Area, after the attack that killed residents and left others injured.

The visit took place on Thursday, two days after the August 18 attack. Mutfwang met residents and families of the victims, and promised tighter security around the affected community.

The development follows earlier NaijaTrend coverage of the wider Plateau attack cluster here. The new reports focus on the governor’s visit to the scene and his fresh security undertaking.

Reports said Mutfwang described the attack as unacceptable and told residents the state would work with security agencies to protect communities and prevent further violence.

Vanguard reported that the governor also framed the killings as an attempt to force people off ancestral land. The two accounts agree that his Thursday visit was to commiserate with the community and reassure residents after the killings.
