The military has moved the tactical headquarters of Operation Enduring Peace from Jos to Mangu Local Government Area after the deadly attack on Bin-Per community in Plateau State.

The relocation is meant to put commanders closer to Mangu and nearby communities where renewed violence has killed residents and displaced others. It follows NaijaTrend’s earlier report here on the latest Plateau attack.

Premium Times reported that the Commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Williams Dangana, announced the move on Wednesday while speaking to journalists in Mangu.

Dangana said the new base would help commanders assess the security situation directly and respond faster to attacks in Mangu and neighbouring areas.

Daily Post reported survivor accounts from Bin-Per community in Kombun District, where more than 25 people were said to have been killed on Tuesday. Survivors said the attackers moved from house to house, killed residents who could not escape and set homes on fire.

The two reports point to a fresh security response after the same attack, not just political reaction to the killings. The military move will now be judged by whether it reduces the cycle of attacks and helps residents return safely.
