LASTMA Launches Toll-Free 3367 Emergency Hotline In Lagos
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has launched a new toll-free emergency short-code hotline, 3367, as part of efforts to strengthen emergency response operations, improve traffic management and encourage greater public participation in road transportation administration across Lagos State.
Daily Post reported that the agency said the newly introduced platform replaces its previous long-service communication code with a more accessible and technologically advanced system designed to enhance interaction between LASTMA and residents.
LASTMA explained that the platform would allow residents to promptly report incidents such as broken-down vehicles, road accidents, stranded tankers, disabled articulated trucks, traffic obstructions and other emergencies requiring urgent intervention.
The agency added that the hotline would also serve as a channel for residents to report the conduct and operational activities of LASTMA officials, a move aimed at promoting transparency, accountability and professionalism within the agency.
Callers would be able to communicate with hotline operators in English, Yoruba and Pidgin English.
Speaking on the initiative, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the introduction of the hotline as a major step toward building a safer, more responsive and technology-driven traffic management system in Lagos.
Premium Times also reported the launch.
