The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested 147 suspects during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts in parts of the state.

The operation, reported by Punch, Daily Trust and Daily Post, was linked to the command’s ongoing “Operation Ko Si Aye” crackdown. Police said the suspects were taken from Boolar, Super Ile-Epo and other identified black spots.

Punch reported that police recovered 250 expended cartridges, two knives, one lighter, five battle axes, scissors, assorted charms, 22 machetes and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

Daily Trust reported that police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said officers from different formations of the command carried out the raid at the same time as part of a wider strategy to disrupt criminal groups.

Daily Post also reported the 147 arrests and said the suspects were undergoing profiling while investigations continued. Police said those found culpable would be charged to court after investigation.

The command said the operation was meant to improve public safety and restore confidence in affected communities. No casualty figure was reported in the verified accounts.
