The Kaduna State Traffic Laws Enforcement Agency has denied reports that three girls died in a road accident involving one of its marshals along Ali Akilu Road in Kaduna metropolis.

KASTLEA said the accident happened on Monday afternoon while marshals were carrying out traffic enforcement. It said a commercial bus overturned after its driver tried to avoid another vehicle that was being stopped.

The agency said some passengers, mostly young girls selling roasted corn, sustained injuries, but no one died.

Reports later spread on social media claiming that three girls in the bus had died and that the driver suffered fractures in both legs. KASTLEA said both claims were false.

Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer Carla Abdulmalik urged the public to stop sharing unverified information, saying the injured girls had been treated and discharged.

She said the agency sent senior officials to the scene after learning that the road near MRS filling station on Ali Akilu Road had been blocked.
