Hausa Political Singer Kosan Waka Dies At 47
Hausa political praise singer Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka, has died at the age of 47.
Daily Post and Daily Trust both reported that the singer died on Sunday. The reports said he was to be buried in Tsanni Village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, at 5pm.
Kosan Waka was widely known for political praise songs, especially songs supporting Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Daily Trust reported that Yusuf mourned him and described him as a committed supporter through his music.
Daily Post reported the death from a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. Daily Trust also reported that the singer’s death drew tributes from political allies and fans.
The reports did not state the cause of death.
