Bala Salihu Ngalda, the All Progressives Congress chairman in Pantami Ward, Gombe Local Government Area, has resigned from his position and left the ruling party.

Daily Trust and Daily Post both reported that Ngalda announced the decision in a resignation letter dated July 27, 2026, addressed to the secretary of the APC in Pantami Ward. Both outlets said the resignation took immediate effect.

Ngalda said he reached the decision after consultations with his family. Daily Trust reported that he resigned both as ward chairman and as a member of the party.

The reports did not identify a new party for him or report an official APC response at the time of publication. The development adds another local political movement in Gombe ahead of future contests in the state.
