FG Denies Fresh Attack Reports At FGGC Monguno, Says Students Are Safe
The Federal Government has denied reports of a fresh ISWAP attack on Federal Government Girls’ College, Monguno, Borno State, saying students and staff are safe.
The denial follows alarm over the Borno school, where an earlier report said troops rescued 46 students after an ISWAP attack. NaijaTrend’s earlier report is here.
Daily Post reported that the Federal Ministry of Education described the latest claims as false and misleading. The ministry said it had contacted the school authorities and confirmed that academic and boarding activities were continuing without disruption.
The ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, said all students, staff and boarding facilities at FGGC Monguno were secure and fully accounted for.
Premium Times also reported the ministry’s assurance to parents. The ministry said the circulating reports could cause unnecessary panic and urged the public to rely on official updates about the school.
