Federal unity colleges across Nigeria are set to resume academic activities on Monday, September 14, after the Federal Ministry of Education said safety arrangements had been put in place for students and staff.

The ministry said relevant security agencies had been informed of the resumption plans and would keep watch around the colleges and nearby communities as the new academic session begins.

Education Minister Tunji Alausa urged parents and guardians to stay calm, rely on official information and continue preparations for their children and wards to return to school on Monday.

The ministry also directed school authorities to work closely with security agencies and other relevant authorities to make the resumption orderly. It said it would keep monitoring developments and coordinate with agencies to support a peaceful return to classes.

The confirmation followed questions from parents about school safety as boarding students prepare to return to federal unity colleges across the country.
