Delta commissioner arrested over deputy director’s death
Delta police have arrested the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, and four others over the death of Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a deputy director in the ministry.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe said the latest arrests brought the number of people in custody over the case to five.
The command also said it had begun a manhunt for Clemetine Ufuoma, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, and Clement Apia, the commissioner’s driver. Police said their presence was needed as the investigation continues.
The development follows an earlier stage of the case reported here, when police arrested Lucky Adoh, an aide to the commissioner. The reports did not give a final official account of what caused Adeda’s death.
