Police arrest Delta commissioner’s aide over civil servant’s death
Delta police have arrested Lucky Adoh, an aide to the Commissioner for Secondary Education, over the death of Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a senior civil servant in the ministry.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe said the command had also begun a manhunt for Enos Attah and Oputa Okestine in connection with the case. Daily Trust reported that Adeda, a deputy director, died after an incident at the office of the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, in Asaba.
The state government has promised the family that the case will not be suppressed. Punch reported that Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, gave the assurance when he led senior officials on a condolence visit to Adeda’s family.
The government delegation said the police investigation should run its course. The reports did not give a final official account of what caused Adeda’s death, and the case remains under investigation.
