Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, arrived at the Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu-Ode on Friday, joining thousands of guests for the annual Ijebu cultural celebration.

The festival, held on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir, featured traditional attire and cultural pageantry with groups entering in flowing agbadas, geles, and beaded accessories. This year’s edition drew politicians, celebrities, and members of the Nigerian diaspora celebrating Ijebu culture and identity.

This edition is the first since the death of Oba Sikiru Adetona in July 2025. He reigned as Awujale of Ijebuland for 65 years, and his absence was noted by attendees who paid tribute to the late monarch’s legacy.

Seyi Tinubu’s presence sparked political chatter, coming amid heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 elections. The president’s son has been increasingly visible at public events across the South-West in recent months.

Governor Abiodun, who is running for re-election in 2027 under the APC ticket, used the occasion to engage with traditional leaders and community stakeholders.
