Police, Forest Guards Rescue Two Kidnap Victims In Bauchi Forest Operation
Police and forest guards have rescued two kidnap victims during a joint security operation in Gwamnare Forest, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Bauchi State Police Command said the operation followed a directive by Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu for tactical teams to intensify operations in communities affected by kidnapping.
Daily Post and Punch reported that the rescue team included the Violent Crime Response Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, conventional police personnel, the Ningi divisional team and Forestry Guards.
The victims were identified as Alhaji Yahaya, 50, of Masallachi Hamlet in Dogon Ruwa village, and Alhaji Kabiru of Gwamnare Forest.
Police said both victims were rescued unharmed and no security personnel was injured. The command said efforts were still ongoing to rescue others believed to remain in captivity within the forest.
