Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar promised to restore fuel subsidy, improve security and create jobs if elected president in 2027, addressing an African Democratic Congress (ADC) rally in Kebbi State on Thursday.

Speaking at the Kebbi campaign rally, Atiku asked supporters: “Do you want the return of subsidy? Do you want security? Do you want employment?”

The promises were conditional on an election victory. Atiku did not give a cost or funding plan for restoring the subsidy in the remarks quoted by Channels Television.

Supporters gathered at the ADC secretariat in Birnin Kebbi. The party also presented its flag to Abubakar Malami as its governorship candidate, Channels Television reported.

The rally took place hours after the Federal High Court in Abuja nullified the David Mark-led ADC leadership and decisions taken by its executives, including Atiku’s nomination.

Justice Peter Lifu delivered the judgment in a suit brought by former ADC deputy national chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe. Atiku rejected the decision and said he would challenge it at the Court of Appeal.
