Army Declares “Gentle The Yahoo” Wanted, Offers N30m Reward

The military has declared Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, popularly known as “Gentle The Yahoo”, wanted and placed a N30 million reward on information leading to his arrest.

The Joint Task Force South-East, Operation Udoka, said the notice was part of efforts to curb violence and criminality in the region. Members of the public were asked to share credible information with security authorities, not to confront the suspect themselves.

Vanguard and Daily Post both reported that the wanted notice described Okorienta as a threat to peace in the South-East. The notice said a reward of N30 million would go to anyone who provides credible information that leads to his capture.

The military listed 193 and 0806 795 9570 as contact channels and said information could be provided anonymously. The notice also carried the message “No Violence, No Criminality in the South East” and “Give Peace a Chance.”

The declaration comes as security operations continue across parts of the South-East against people suspected of involvement in violent and other criminal activities.
