The APC Presidential Campaign Council has scheduled a meeting in Abuja for Tuesday ahead of the planned launch of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Kaduna on October 24.
The meeting is due to begin at 2 p.m. at the council’s headquarters on Herbert Macaulay Way in Abuja’s Central Business District.
A memorandum dated October 18 and signed by council secretary Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State governor, said members would consider and adopt the campaign calendar and discuss preparations for the Kaduna event, Premium Times reported.
The notice describes the meeting as strictly by invitation and refers to the council’s 134 listed members. It also specifies directors and secretaries of the various directorates; it is not a general invitation to party supporters.
The newspaper listed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Uzodimma among those expected.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq are also listed as senior members of the council.
The party has proposed presidential rallies in 12 states, from Kaduna to Lagos, as NaijaTrend reported here. That itinerary remains provisional.
