Abducted Plateau Pastor Found Dead As Attacks Kill Four Others

A pastor abducted on the Jos-Bokkos road in Plateau State has been found dead, while separate attacks in the state left four other people dead, according to reports from the area.

The cleric was identified as Hills Emmanuel, a former Dunamis pastor and founder of The Wonderful Grace of God Evangelical Ministry in Bokkos. He was reportedly taken with another cleric after attackers stopped a commercial minivan on the Barkin Ladi-Bokkos road.

Reports said the other passengers were robbed of phones and cash before being released. The stolen items were later recovered by police at the scene, while Emmanuel’s body was found early Saturday near the area where he was abducted. The second abducted cleric was still unaccounted for in the reports.

The attacks were reported between Friday night and Saturday in parts of Plateau, including communities in Riyom and Barkin Ladi. Daily Post reported that at least four people were killed, including the pastor, while Premium Times reported that the pastor was found dead and four other people were reportedly killed in separate attacks across three local government areas.

Security concerns have remained high in Plateau communities after repeated attacks on travellers and residents. The latest reports linked the incidents to suspected terrorists operating around the affected routes and villages.
