Fubara Says Projects Will Boost APC Chances In Rivers
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara says projects delivered by his administration will give the All Progressives Congress an advantage when candidates return to campaign in the state.
He made the claim on Wednesday during the opening of the 14.5-kilometre Agba-Ndele Road and a 239.4-metre bridge linking communities in Emohua and Abua/Odual local government areas.
The reports say Fubara tied the road project to grassroots politics, arguing that APC candidates would be able to point to visible infrastructure when asking voters for support. He said the road and bridge, along with other projects commissioned by his government, would make the party’s campaign easier in the communities that benefit from them.
The governor also said the work was meant to solve practical problems for residents in Abua and nearby communities, not just to add another project to the state government’s list. He asked local government chairmen Chidi Lloyd of Emohua and Owolobi Michael Ofori of Abua/Odual to help protect public infrastructure in their areas.
Fubara urged residents, youth groups and traditional rulers around Agba-Ndele to take ownership of the road and bridge and protect them from vandalism.
