Lagos Seals More Than 20 Ikeja Properties Over Planning Violations
Lagos State has sealed more than 20 properties in Ikeja Local Government Area over alleged physical planning violations.
The enforcement was carried out by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority. The state government said the affected properties included landed properties, uncompleted buildings and structures with unauthorised extensions.
The exercise was led by Olayinka Wasiu, Permanent Secretary in the Office of Physical Planning, alongside LASPPPA General Manager Kehinde Osinaike and other officials.
Wasiu said the action was meant to prevent building collapse, support orderly development and enforce the Lagos State Physical Planning Law. He said owners of the affected properties had earlier received contravention notices telling them what they needed to do to regularise their developments.
The state urged property owners and developers to obtain the required planning permits before starting construction or making extensions.
