Osun Closes Lameco Flyover After Structural Defect
Osun State has closed the newly opened Lameco flyover in Osogbo after a section developed a structural defect days after commissioning.
Governor Ademola Adeleke ordered repairs on the bridge and directed a technical review of the affected section. Channels Television reported that the governor alleged sabotage, while Punch and TheCable reported that the state shut the bridge after the defect became visible.
The affected flyover is part of the state government’s road projects in Osogbo. Reports said the closure was meant to keep motorists away while engineers assess and repair the fault.
The incident has drawn political criticism in Osun, with opposition figures questioning the quality of the project. The state government said repair work would be carried out and the bridge reopened only after safety checks.
