INEC Reminds Nigerians Voter Registration Ends Sunday

INEC has reminded eligible Nigerians that the Continuous Voter Registration exercise closes on Sunday, July 26, 2026, as the commission prepares for the 2027 general elections.

The reminder is a deadline follow-up to NaijaTrend’s earlier report on the extended registration window here. Punch reported that INEC issued the latest notice on Saturday and urged Nigerians to use the remaining days.

The commission said prospective voters could complete registration online through its CVR portal or visit state offices, local government offices and designated centres for help. It said centres would remain open daily, including weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until the exercise ends.

Daily Trust reported that INEC had registered 6,885,330 new prospective voters across the three phases of the exercise. It cited a statement by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, saying the current phase was meant to be the final part of the registration.

The report also said INEC is expected to display the voter register for claims and objections in August, after verification and clean-up. An INEC official cited by Daily Trust said final numbers would be released only after the portal closes and biometric checks are completed.
