Military Drone Strikes Kill Over 20 ISWAP Fighters In Lake Chad

Daily Post, citing security analyst Zagazola Makama, reported that Nigerian military air operations under Operation Hadin Kai killed more than 20 ISWAP fighters in the Lake Chad area.

The operation was described as a drone attack on the fighters’ position. The reports said motorcycles used by the group were also destroyed.

The Lake Chad axis remains one of the key theatres of the fight against ISWAP and Boko Haram-linked groups. The latest strike adds to recent military operations around Borno and neighbouring border areas.

Daily Post reported that the target was an ISWAP position, more than 20 fighters were killed and motorcycles were destroyed during the operation.

The report said the operation also destroyed motorcycles used by the fighters, a detail that points to the strike targeting both personnel and movement capacity in the area.
