Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Suppliers, Intercept Medical Supplies In Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted medical and veterinary supplies during separate operations in Borno State.

Channels TV reported that troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion, working with Hybrid Forces, arrested five suspected suppliers in Mafa Local Government Area on July 20.

The report said the suspects were transporting 491 cartons of Albe Stark veterinary dewormer and 100 cartons of multivitamin injections for animals without the required waybills. A search also uncovered cartons of Diclofenac Sodium Injection, Benzylpenicillin Sodium BP, Dexamethasone Injection and Metronidazole Intravenous Infusion.

Vanguard reported a separate Operation Hadin Kai statement saying troops also arrested a suspected foreign terrorist fighter, an alleged illegal immigrant and six suspected suppliers during intelligence-led operations in the state.

The Vanguard report listed recovered items including herbicides, suspected acid, a Starlink internet system, fertilizer, rice, hoes and sprayer pumps. The military said some items could be adapted for explosive devices or used to sustain insurgent activity.

The suspects were taken into military custody for further investigation. The reports frame the operations as part of efforts to disrupt supply routes that keep armed groups active in the North-East.
