The Nigeria Revenue Service has given large taxpayers until July 31, 2026, to comply fully with the national e-invoicing and Electronic Fiscal System.

The system, also known as the Merchant Buyer Solution, requires affected companies to complete onboarding, integration, testing and invoice transmission to the NRS platform.

The agency said the deadline follows a public notice issued on February 17, 2026. NRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji signed the notice, while Dare Adekanmbi, his media adviser, said the service had started checking compliance levels among large taxpayers.

The NRS warned that companies that fail to comply could face regulatory and enforcement action under relevant tax laws.

Large taxpayers are companies with annual gross turnover of N5 billion and above. The agency said it would continue to provide support to help affected businesses complete the transition.
