Wike Says He Will Resign If Road Claims Are Proven False

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has challenged critics to disprove his road-construction figures in Abuja’s satellite towns, saying he would resign if the claims are shown to be false.
Wike made the challenge on Friday during the inauguration of the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council.
Punch reported that Wike said the FCT Administration had awarded 317 kilometres of satellite-town road contracts since President Bola Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023. He said 221 kilometres had been completed and 96 kilometres were ongoing.
Daily Post reported that Wike described the administration’s project delivery in Abuja as the strongest response to opposition criticism. He also said the 31-day project commissioning programme that began on June 9 had ended on July 17.
The minister said the Apo-Karshi Road and the Bwari-Kubwa Road would be completed before the end of the year.
