Abiodun Approves One Day Off, ₦10,000 Transport Allowance For Ogun Workers
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved one day off work each week and a ₦10,000 transport allowance for civil servants in the state.
The state government said the measures are meant to ease transport costs and reduce the pressure workers face in getting to their offices. The approval extends a work palliative for public servants at a time when transport and living costs remain high.
Daily Post and Premium Times reported that the package covers civil servants and forms part of the government’s response to workers’ welfare concerns.
The arrangement gives affected workers a weekly day away from the office while the transport allowance is expected to support commuting on working days. The government said the policy would be implemented through the civil service structure.
