Recovered items in the Kano police ammunition-supplier arrest report

Police in Kano have arrested a 28-year-old man suspected of taking ammunition and military gear to bandits in Bichi Local Government Area.

The suspect, identified by police as Mohammed Isah Haruna of Dan Dinshe Yamma Quarters in Dala Local Government Area, was intercepted in Rimaye Village after a resident reported seeing a man dressed in what looked like a military uniform.

Police said officers from the Bichi Division worked with members of the Rimawa community to stop and search him. They reported recovering an AK-47 magazine loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition, 79 additional AK-47 rounds, two suspected military uniforms, three military caps, a suspected fake military identity card and a pair of desert boots.

The command said the suspect confessed during preliminary questioning that he had gone to the area to deliver the items to bandits hiding in the bush. He remains in custody while police say they are trying to identify other members of the suspected network.

Kano Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori praised residents for sharing information with the police and said the case would be charged to court after investigation.
