El-Kanemi Warriors have won the President Federation Cup after beating Ikorodu City 1-0 in Saturday’s final in Asaba.
The Maiduguri club secured the trophy through a 13th-minute penalty converted by Muktar Ismail, a result that gave El-Kanemi their fourth title in Nigeria’s oldest football competition.
Daily Post reported that the win was El-Kanemi’s second Federation Cup triumph in three years and that the club will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season alongside Shooting Stars.
Premium Times also reported the final result, confirming that El-Kanemi edged Ikorodu City to claim the title.
The defeat ended Ikorodu City’s season without a continental ticket after they had also missed out through the Nigeria Premier Football League.
