Senate Confirms Zainab Marwa As NDDC Board Member
The Senate has confirmed Dr Zainab Marwa as a member of the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Marwa will represent the North-East geopolitical zone on the NDDC board. Her confirmation came during Wednesday’s plenary after lawmakers considered and adopted the report of the Senate Committee on NDDC.
Senator Patrick Ndubueze presented the report on behalf of the committee. He said President Bola Tinubu had sent Marwa’s nomination to the Senate, after which it was referred to the committee for screening and legislative action.
The committee said it reviewed Marwa’s documents and screened her for competence, experience, integrity and suitability for the appointment. It then recommended that the Senate confirm her nomination.
After the confirmation, Senate President Godswill Akpabio congratulated Marwa and said he hoped her work on the board would support the development of the Niger Delta region.
