Ebonyi NDC Denies Backing PDP Governorship Aspirant Ifeanyi Odii
The Ebonyi State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has denied claims that it is backing Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant Ifeanyi Odii ahead of the 2027 election.
Daily Post reported that the state chairman of the NDC, Enyinnaya Udensi Alum, said the party was not part of any purported endorsement and would support only its own governorship candidate.
Vanguard reported that Alum blamed the claimed endorsement on former party members he said had been expelled over alleged financial impropriety and anti-party activities.
The party asked NDC members and supporters in Ebonyi to stay away from any gathering arranged for the purported endorsement, warning that such participation would amount to anti-party activity.
Alum also urged members of the public not to deal with the named former members as representatives of the NDC.
