President Bola Tinubu has approved 27 road projects valued at more than N3.9 trillion across 15 states.

Daily Post reported that the Minister of Works, David Umahi, disclosed the approvals after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

Punch also reported that the projects are part of the Federal Government’s plan to improve road infrastructure across the country.

The projects cover Adamawa, Benue, Cross River, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Niger, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba and Yobe states.

According to Punch, the approvals include the re-award of a 409-kilometre dual carriageway project in Niger State under the tax credit scheme to businessman Aliko Dangote at a cost of N1.8 trillion.

Other projects listed by the minister include sections of the Ilorin-Ogbomoso Road, Iseyin-Eruwa-Agbesi Road, Abakaliki-Afikpo Road and several routes in Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Kogi, Plateau and Adamawa states.

Umahi also said the first 118km section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, valued at N137 billion, has been completed.

The approvals add to the Tinubu administration’s continuing push to use road construction and concessions as part of its infrastructure programme.
