Atiku Warns Of Plot To Keep ADC Off 2027 Ballot
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has alleged a fresh plot to keep the African Democratic Congress off the ballot ahead of the 2027 general election.
Vanguard reported that Atiku raised the alarm in Abuja through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu.
Daily Trust also reported the allegation, saying Atiku claimed there were renewed efforts to use political and legal moves to block the ADC.
Atiku said he had received information suggesting that elements within the ruling establishment were working to create confusion in the opposition and target the ADC.
The former vice president described the development as an attack on democratic choice and said Nigerians should be allowed to freely choose their leaders.
Vanguard reported that he linked the alleged plot to what he described as a wider pattern of pressure on opposition parties.
Daily Trust said the statement was issued by Shaibu and framed the allegation as a warning ahead of the 2027 polls.
