Bandits Abduct Resident, Burn NSCDC Post and House in Kebbi Community Attack
Suspected bandits have abducted a resident, Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare, and set ablaze a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps outpost during an attack on Tsamiya community in Kebbi State.
The attack occurred on the night of Saturday, June 20, with the assailants shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents, according to a statement by Kebbi State Police Command spokesperson SP Bashir Usman.
The bandits burnt down an NSCDC checkpoint and the house of one Sule Mai Goge before fleeing the area with the abducted victim.
Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police ordered the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to the community to strengthen security and safeguard lives.
The command said police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have commenced investigations and intensified operations to rescue the kidnapped victim and track down the attackers.
The attack is the latest in a series of security incidents in Kebbi State, where armed groups have targeted rural communities, stealing livestock and abducting residents for ransom.
