APC Members Protest in Lagos, Demand Review of House of Assembly, Reps Primaries
Members of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State have staged a protest at the party’s secretariat, demanding a review of the recently concluded House of Assembly and House of Representatives primaries.
Leadership reported that the protesters expressed anger over the conduct of the primaries, alleging irregularities and lack of transparency in the process. The party members demanded that the leadership revisit the results and address their grievances.
Daily Trust also reported that protesters stormed the Lagos APC secretariat, with chants and placards calling for a review. The protest is the latest sign of internal discontent within the ruling party as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The APC has been conducting primaries across the country to select candidates for various elective positions. The Lagos protest highlights the tensions that often accompany internal party elections.
Party officials at the secretariat were said to have received the protesters’ complaints and promised to forward them to the appropriate leadership channels.
