The France-Nigeria Business Forum scheduled for October 29 in Lagos has been postponed, with no replacement date confirmed for participants.

The postponement follows a decision to put off French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Nigeria. The visit is now expected in 2027, while revised arrangements for the forum are to be announced.

The France-Nigeria Business Council notified participants by email on Saturday morning, according to Premium Times, which reported seeing the notice.

The forum was intended to strengthen partnerships between Nigerian and French businesses. Macron’s planned trip was also expected to form part of French Week activities organised by the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The visit had been planned as a return engagement after President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to France in 2024. NaijaTrend reported the French envoy’s earlier announcement of a visit before the end of 2026 here.
