Oyebanji dissolves Ekiti boards, ends political appointments
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved the immediate dissolution of boards, commissions and parastatals in the state.
The directive also ends the appointments of political appointees, including Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Technical Assistants.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, announced the decision on Sunday. Daily Trust reported that Oyebanji said the move was tied to the winding down of his first term ahead of his second-term inauguration scheduled for October 16.
The reports said some statutory bodies were exempted, including the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission. Other exempted bodies listed included SUBEB and the Local Government Service Commission.
